Document requirements vary depending on the type of title transaction. Click on a section below to expand information.

The seller must sign the title over to you and complete the “Transfer of Title by Seller” section on the Florida title, including the sale date, sale price and current odometer reading and date.

Bring:

  • The title; 
  • Proof of Florida insurance on the vehicle; and
  • Valid driver’s license/ state ID with you.

All new listed owners must be present to sign the title application.

The title certificate must be signed over to you by the seller and include the sale date, sale price and current odometer reading and date.

Bring:

  • The vehicle for a VIN verification;
  • Title;
  • Proof of Florida insurance on the vehicle; and
  • Valid driver’s license/ state ID with you.

If you own the car, bring:

  • The title;
  • Vehicle for a VIN verification;
  • Proof of Florida insurance on the vehicle; and
  • Valid driver’s license/ state ID with you.

If the car is financed, bring:

  • The lienholder (finance company) information;
  • Current vehicle registration;
  • Vehicle for a VIN verification;
  • Proof of Florida insurance on the vehicle: and
  • Valid driver’s license/ state ID with you.
